Ash & Rose
Clients: Mary and Nea Savoca

Working directly with founders Mary and Nea Savoca, I interned at Ash & Rose, a sustainable fashion boutique based in Boston, Massachusetts. My tasks were all-encompassing and touched on various needs to support the in-store and digital shopping experience. As part of the marketing team, the primary objective of the summer was to give Ash & Rose a defining aesthetic displayed in a brand style guide. This guide would drive the creative applied in digital and print assets that I would create for the store, as well as set the tone for the seasonal product photoshoot, which I got to assist in producing.

Creative Direction
Mary and Nea wanted a more visually consistent brand experience with some defined parameters for how digital and printed materials associated with the store would look. Before making this style guide, there wasn't a system of clearly defined colors and type choices. The branding of Anthropologie and Free People inspired our branding choices. We looked towards creating a brand that plays on conventional femininity while having a sophisticated whimsy. Color schemes were derived from rose flowers and the spectrum of colors you can find them in.

Execution - Print Design
One print project I completed for Ash & Rose was designing packaging labels for their candles as part of their in-house apothecary line. The vision was to create a design that could be adaptable to a variety of different scents and allow room to communicate its list of ingredients, a very important marketing attribute to a store that proudly boasts in-house creation and sustainability. Philosophy's shampoo labels were what inspired the type layout. I also looked at higher price-point candy packaging as a source of inspiration.

Execution - Digital Design
The first place the rebrand was on display was in digital settings. Website banners, product pages, and Instagram story ads showcased the brand colors, motifs, and type.
